Our school offers four-year studies with a high school diploma in three fields of study: 2675 M Electrical Engineering, 3918 M Technical Lyceum, which is a designation for selective schools similar to our gymnasiums, which have successfully existed in Western European countries for decades, and the new field of study 2561 M Information and Network Technologies. The opening of the study department 3918 M Technical Lyceum at SPŠE in Košice in the 2010/2011 school year increased the quality and possibilities of education, supports the implementation of the EU’s intentions to expand the level of general education in vocational schools as well. Who is the field of study 3918 M intended for, or “technical lyceum or gymnasium?”. This department is intended primarily for elementary school students with very good academic results, with an interest in technology, foreign languages ​​(ANJ+NEJ) and mathematics, and for students who are considering studying at universities or higher vocational schools with a technical focus after graduation.

The field of study 2561M – Information and network technologies opened in the school year 2018/2019 is a 4th year field of study completed by the matriculation exam. Based on the requirements of the labor market, we have compiled a curriculum so that it is not only modern but also timeless, which is a big challenge in the case of IT. “Our IST” will focus mainly on the administration of computer systems and networks. Students will learn to work at a more advanced level with Windows and Linux operating systems, administer database systems, manage web servers and websites, program and script. In addition to hard skills, part of the study is also devoted to soft skills, which will help students to better manage communication with customers, process information, create technical documentation, manage their own work or the work of their colleagues. A foreign language is a matter of course, in our case English and German.
