A key element in the idea of education in this area was the adoption of the Act on the Operation of Private Security Services in 1998. This legislation specified the method of performing services in private security services and at the same time regulating the conditions of education of their employees. In this spirit, many training centers were established in the Slovak Republic, including the Patron Training Center under the leadership of the President of VŠBM Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Marián Mesároš, DrSc. This integration into the community of “security organizations” began to create the foundations for the further development of security education, which was amplified in 2000 in Krakow, when the local conference gave rise to the idea of the formation of specialization ” Security Management “under the Slovak University. In addition to private security issues, societies have begun to need to address security in areas other than economics, transportation, or information protection. This was the basis for the creation of the first study program of this specification in Slovakia and the related establishment of the Detached Workplace in Košice, Faculty of Special Engineering, the University of Žilina in Žilina.
