On November 26, 2025, the PERUN supercomputer was introduced at the Technical University of Košice. It connects academia and industry, enables fast processing of large datasets, simulations, and AI model training, and supports innovation and regional development.

At the end of January, the expert conference MedTech Day 2026 took place at UVP Technicom in Košice, bringing together healthcare, technological innovation, research, startups, and the public sector. The aim of the event was to support the creation of a functional ecosystem, deliver practical solutions for the future of healthcare in eastern Slovakia, and initiate real collaboration and projects linking clinical practice with innovation.

For the fourth time, we have been awarded the prestigious GOLD Label Certificate of Cluster Management Excellence by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA). This highest European recognition in cluster management confirms the high quality of our governance, strategic development, and international relevance.

Košice is becoming a leader not only in the field of information technology but also in supporting young talents who may shape the future of the region. A clear example of this is the fourth edition of the LAB IT Creativity project – organized by the Košice IT Valley association.

They operate in Eastern Slovakia and contribute to the sustainable development of the region. These are the kinds of companies and individuals who competed for the ESG Awards, organized by the Košice IT Valley cluster. The winners in the individual categories were Petra Nagyová, Banik & syn, and Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia (DTITSO SK).

Košice IT Valley, a key cluster representing IT companies in the region, highlights the serious challenges of the IT sector. A shortage of experts in key areas such as data analytics and cyber security can seriously threaten its growth. The cluster is therefore calling for investment in training and product innovation to make the region competitive again and attractive to global technology firms.
