Holograms Changing the Way We Communicate and Learn
Behind this exceptional technology are Mária and Matúš, experts in artificial intelligence, robotics, and game development. Together with their team, based in Košice as well as in France, Portugal, and Bulgaria, they are pushing the boundaries of 3D communication and education.
While holograms were once known mainly from movies, MATSUKO’s vision is to make them accessible in everyday life, for example through a smartphone. The result is realistic 3D models of people whom we can see right in front of us through AR glasses.
Technology That Teaches and Trains More Effectively
One of the most compelling applications of holograms is education. MATSUKO demonstrates that the combination of augmented reality and immersive experience has the potential to significantly increase learning effectiveness. The company helps schools and businesses create interactive training modules that make complex content easier to understand and retain.

From Košice to Europe
MATSUKO is currently involved in several international projects supported by the European Commission, ranging from education in electromobility and research on 6G to the latest initiative called Holo Work, which focuses on building a center of excellence for holographic education. Thanks to these projects, MATSUKO’s technology is reaching schools, companies, and research centers across Europe. Most importantly, it proves that the future of technology can also be shaped from Slovakia.
MATSUKO’s technology enables the creation of holograms using a standard smartphone without the need for a specialized studio or green screen. Every pixel captured by the camera is transformed into 3D space, resulting in a highly realistic representation of a person, including appearance, gestures, and even facial details. Compared to an avatar that only simulates movement based on predefined parameters, this represents a significant technological leap.
