MedTech Day 2026 is a professional conference that connects medicine, technology, research and innovation in order to develop modern healthcare in Eastern Slovakia. The event creates a common space for healthcare professionals, technology and MedTech companies, startups, academia and the public sector seeking practical and sustainable solutions for the future of healthcare.

The aim of the conference is to support the creation of a functional MedTech ecosystem in the region, to connect clinical practice with innovation and to present concrete solutions proven in practice. The programme will offer up-to-date data on the state of healthcare, strategic perspectives from leaders, technological innovations and open discussion on what is needed to develop the MedTech environment in Košice and Eastern Slovakia.

MedTech Day is the place for all those who want to be an active part of the changes in healthcare, establish new collaborations and participate in building modern, innovative and sustainable healthcare.

For whom the event is intended

MedTech Day 2026 is designed for professionals working at the intersection of healthcare, technology and innovation. It will particularly address:

• physicians, healthcare professionals and hospital management interested in technological solutions in clinical practice
• Technology and MedTech companies, startups and innovators in the digital health space
• representatives of universities, research institutions and the public sector

The event is intended for all those who want to develop new partnerships, share know-how and actively contribute to the development of innovative healthcare in Eastern Slovakia.

Admission to the conference is free of charge.

A KEYNOTE THAT SETS A CLEAR DIRECTION FOR MEDTECH

At MedTech Day 2026, the keynote speaker will be Martin Smatana, an analyst and one of the most prominent figures in health policy, innovation, and AI in Slovakia.

A graduate of Oxford University and Imperial College London, former head of the Institute for Health Policy, and currently an analyst for GLOBSEC, the World Bank, the IMF, and the European Commission, he is also actively involved in startups focused on artificial intelligence in healthcare.

In his keynote, he will focus on how to support innovation in healthcare, connect key stakeholders, and build the conditions that can turn eastern Slovakia into a healthcare technology hub.
