Live IT Projects are a unique educational concept under the auspices of the Department of Computers and Informatics of the Faculty of Computer Science of the Technical University of Economics and the Košice IT Valley Association in a scope and form that is unusual in Slovakia. The project takes the cooperation between academia and practice to a whole new level. Under the guidance of mentors from IT companies and clients from the third sector or local governments, students work on projects that are not only business attractive, but also have a developmental and social significance.
Typical outputs are software prototypes such as information systems, websites, mobile applications, cloud solutions or intelligent interfaces.
This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary year of the competition, with the final taking place on 4 February 2025. As many as 33 entities and 329 students are involved, working intensively on 67 innovative projects.
The main idea of the project?
To give students the opportunity to work for almost half a year on real topics under expert guidance, thus gaining not only practical experience, but also direct contact with the current challenges of the IT sector.
We look forward to the final presentations that will show how young innovators and technology can shape the future together.
