The GradeUP conference will transform the Maxima Auditorium from 12:00 to 16:20 into a place for discussions on innovation, startups and modern higher education. Experts from universities, innovation centres, startups and entrepreneurs will speak in four thematic blocks.
The discussions will be led by experts from the Technical University in Košice, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, University of Žilina in Žilina and Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. They will also present their science and innovation parks, technology incubators and projects that combine research with practice.
Tips for starting a successful business will be offered by presentations of, for example, Andrej Krúpa, advisor to the President of the Slovak Republic on innovation and technology, Daniela Choma, author of the relationship communication game Človečina, or the startup TrollWall AI.
Guests from Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia, the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, organisations such as Košice IT Valley and the Innovation Centre of the Košice Region will offer their insights into the interconnection of business and education. Representatives of the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic, the Centre for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Agency for the Development of Investment and Trade (SARIO) will also provide expert insight and useful advice and tips. The organiser - the Ministry of Education - will also have a place in the discussions and presentations and will present the Rate_it survey.
Personal meetings and direct conversations with interesting startups, scientists, innovators and educators will be followed by the Entrepreneurship Night at UVP Technicom (from 16:30 to 20:00). In a modern university space, the discussions will present interesting projects combining entrepreneurship and education, technological innovations, or startups using artificial intelligence. Presentation stands of universities and state and non-state institutions will provide a wealth of information.
The GradeUp conference and the Entrepreneurship Night event are open not only to pupils and students, but also to the general public. Admission is free of charge.
