The unique event CEO Dinner with Mr. Ivan Mikloš, former Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic will take place on Monday, 11 November 2024 at Gesto café & brunch (Námestie L. Novomeského 13, Košice) starting at 17:00. The event is by invitation only for cluster members, designed especially for CEO and CFO positions.
Ivan Mikloš was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic in 2002-2006 and 2010-2012. In the first government of Mikuláš Dzurinda, during 1998-2002, he held the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Economy. In 1991, he became Minister of Privatisation (1991-1992). Subsequently, in 1992, he co-founded and until 1998 headed the economic think-tank MESA10. He was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in 2006-2010 and 2012-2016. In 2014, he was re-elected as President of the think-tank MESA10 and became a member of the corps of international advisors of the National Reform Council of Ukraine and the VoxUkraine platform. During 2015-2016, he held the position of Chief Advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Finance and was also an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Economy. From April 2016 to August 2019, he served as Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine. After the change of government, he served as the economic advisor to the newly elected Prime Minister of Ukraine from November 2019 to March 2020. From 2016-2020, he headed the Strategic Assistance Group to Support Reforms in Ukraine (SAGSUR). He is also a co-founder of the Ukrainian economic think-tank Centre for Economic Strategy. He also served as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Moldova from 2021-2022. From March 2022 to June 2024, he was an economic policy advisor to the President of the Slovak Republic.
Ivan Mikloš is one of the leading figures of the economic transformation in Slovakia. During his tenure in the governments of Mikuláš Dzurinda in 1998-2002 and 2002-2006, Slovakia achieved a number of international successes, among which are the accession to the OECD (2000), NATO (2004) and the European Union (2004). He was the main architect of the reforms that led to Slovakia being named the most reformed country in the world by the World Bank in 2004. He was named "Best Finance Minister" in the Euromoney magazine poll in 2004. He is the recipient of numerous national and international awards and the author of numerous professional publications, articles and blogs.
