Entries are now open for the 12th edition of the ‘Living IT Projects’ competition. Companies have the opportunity to submit their own project for students to work on, whilst also helping non-profit organisations and civic associations to turn their needs into practical technological solutions.
Real-world IT projects connect IT students with companies and third-sector organisations. The aim is to give students the opportunity to work on real-world tasks whilst developing solutions that have practical applications.
Companies can take part in the 12th edition by submitting their own project. Students then work on the assignment throughout the semester under the guidance of a specialist mentor from the company.
It is an opportunity to test new ideas, involve students in real-world development and, at the same time, nurture future talent in line with the needs of the industry.
Third-sector organisations are also involved in the project, bringing forward specific problems and needs for which they are seeking technological solutions.
However, not every organisation has its own technology expert who could mentor students during the project.Companies can therefore also provide one of their technology mentors for a project run by a non-profit organisation.
In this way, experts from companies can draw on their experience to create a solution that will not merely serve as a student project, but can be implemented in practice and help people or organisations that need it.
