On Friday, October 1, we discussed the opportunities and challenges which our country and region of eastern Slovakia are facing with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Slovak Republic, H.E. Barbara Wolf, and representatives of the AHK Slowakei (German-Slovak Chamber of Commerce), Slovak-Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the foreign trade promotion organization of the Austrian economy ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Slovakia.

We introduced the strategic goals and activities of our cluster, as well as presented the vision of building a functional ecosystem in eastern Slovakia. Our region is known for its openness to cooperation, which provides a suitable prerequisite for its further development. However, we have common challenges we face. The healthy and sustainable economic development of advanced economies today is based on the factors of the knowledge economy: building “future” skills, innovation, maintaining a highly educated workforce, in cooperation with the academic sector, and the use of new technologies.

The business mission also included a visit to two startups, CeeLabs and HRIIS, located in UVP TECHNICOM.
