The establishment of the Secondary Industrial School of Electrical Engineering in Prešov stimulated the developing electrical engineering industry in eastern Slovakia and the needs of experts in this field for the Křižík plant, which was established in 1947 in Prešov and began producing single-phase, later three-phase electricity meters. The school went down in history on September 1, 1952, under the name of the Higher Industrial School of Electrical Engineering. Three classes of the first year were opened, the department of construction of electrical machines and devices, the study was four years. 120 pupils were admitted, 7 teachers taught. The first graduates graduated in 1956.
We currently offer the following fields: electrical engineering, information and network technologies, technical and IT services in electrical engineering. The Secondary Industrial School of Electrical Engineering in Prešov is one of the dominant secondary schools in eastern Slovakia. According to the INEKO evaluation, in 2013 the school was ranked first in the ranking within Slovakia and in 2014 it was ranked second. We can be proud of more than eight thousand graduates who have found and still find good employment.
