Interreg Europe programme and internationalization of Slovak clusters

Programme of interregional cooperation Interreg Europe within European Union, Switzerland and Norway deals with, among other things, with realisation of international project ClusterFY. One of the participants is also Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency. Goal of the project is to support intercluster cooperation and to bring the clusters into international structures. WIthin project eight EU countries met, represented by National and regional innovation agencies, ministries, universities, technological clusters and self-governing bodies.

Slovak Republic has several key tasks within the project:


  • to elaborate national policy recommendations that support clusters on the basis of mutual exchange of experience
  • to increase the competitiveness of individual clusters through international certification through the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis
  • to create the possibilities regarding formation of international cluster consortia

On May 25, 2017 all the participants active in ClusterFY project met. Aim of the meeting was to elaborate project outputs on Slovak part until 2021. Kosice IT Valley ia also one of the clusters to be supported within preparation to receive golden, silver or bronze excellence marks.
